Why Wellbeing for High Performance?

Are your team always getting ill, relying on coffee and sweets for an afternoon pick-me-up, feeling groggy after a good night's sleep, or perhaps not sleeping well at all?
Have they been sprinting for too long to reach tight deadlines? Struggling to hit targets? Perhaps you've seen details being missed, tension between team members or departments emerging, or low motivation across the group.

You may have employees who are living in the bottom right quadrant. Gallup data shows that these are your high performers, making the most difference to your business.
By investing in increasing the wellbeing of your team, you facilitate a workforce that is more trainable, sustainable, and high-performing.
The unfortunate fact is, you can not always change the nature of work demands.
What you can do is make sure your team are pouring from a full cup - NOT an empty one.
Investing in Employee Wellbeing Works
I have been there. Working long hours in an under-resourced team, burning myself out - mentally, and physically. I became unmotivated and the quality of my work, relationships and life suffered for it. It wasn't until I addressed these three things, that I realised the impact of simple changes in boosting my energy, outlook and performance at work. 1. Good nutrition & movement: All the sugary convenience food & drinks I was consuming to keep me going, plus hours sedentarily glued to my desk were draining my energy. Understanding the simple formula to healthier habits transformed my energy, sleep and outlook, without compromising my output. In fact, it boosted it. 2. Mental health & self-care: Once I had more energy from my lifestyle changes, I felt able to address my stress and mental health. Understanding my triggers, and creating a personalised system to prevent burnout and bad days, helped me to show up at work less distracted and more focused. 3. Communication & relational health: Once the first two were dialled in, I became less reactive - I was able to observe scenarios around me without getting caught up in drama. Understanding more about my communication preferences and responses through C-me profiling and reflective exercises, helped me understand other's differences and how to adapt to those too to create win-win scenarios.
This was the final piece that helped me communicate better with executives, my manager and teammates.
Understanding self and others is a fundamental piece of my work, integrated into all three modules.

I know this works, not only because of my own experience, but because I have seen the incredible impact it has had on the people I have worked with too.
